Top 5 Wednesday – Current Favorites that Aren’t Books

imgresWell, since this week’s topic is supposed to be about something other than books I’ve decided to move on to my next favorite thing – food :D. I think a word of warning is in order – it’s going to be sweet. But it’s winter, it’s a perfect time for sweet and comfy meals, right? And no, there will be no exact recipes because I always forget to save them or write them down, but with a bit of search on the net you’ll be able to find the version that suits you best, or just do what I do – improvise :D.

Soup: sweet potato and coconut milk

It is sweet! And so good. I bet you can find a recipe for this kind of soup that will fit your needs. Mine had also some carrots, ginger and it was very thick. Like “the spoon almost stood in it” thick :P. It’s perfect for cold days and if you ever have enough of pumpkin soup.

Top 5 Wednesday – Favorite Underrated Books

imgresWell hello there! Here’s another Wednesday with another list to fill in :). This time it’s about those special books (or series as it will be in my case) that are either unknown or lie forgotten, even though they used to be famous. Let me remind you of few of my favorites and feel free to tell me if you remember any of these or what books or series would you pick for today’s list!

5. Artefacts of Power by Maggie Furey

Four short books that I found during some vacations with my friend. Well, we found three of them and I still can’t get my hands on the last volume which is extremely frustrating!

Stories about lady Mage journeying through the magical lands, fulfilling the quest to save her homelands. Even though each of these books is short, it is filled with excitement and overflowing magic.

Top 5 Wednesday: 2017 Releases You Are Excited For

I could not be vegetarian and vegan sounds even more horrific. I love animals, but there are boundaries… like food 😛 I love food. I just had this nice breakfast with boiled eggs, onions and bacon stripes and I’m happy :D. It was also horrifically caloric, but with the temperatures between -15°C and -20°C lately I feel inclined to eat more 😛 and I really don’t care. Did I mention I love food? Now I only need some coffee and I can start working.

That was the random thought for today brought to you by calories 😛

Top 5 WednesdayAnyway, it was supposed to be a Top 5 Wednesday post, so let’s get to it :P. Actually, I almost skipped this Wednesday as I don’t normally track recent releases other than my ARC’s, but I’m using it as an excuse to publish my random food thoughts :P. Yes, I’m kind of in a good mood and full of energy… for now. Continue reading “Top 5 Wednesday: 2017 Releases You Are Excited For”

Top 5(ish) Wednesday: 2017 Goals

imgresIt seems this Top 5 Wednesday provides me with kind of a deadline to finally list my challenges :). I was bound to do it anyway, so here it goes. But since 5 is such a small number for a yearly challenge, so instead I’ll make five sets of them instead. Oh, and there will be statistics and graphics 😛

5. Bookish goals

Read more of the older books instead of all of the new stuff. New books are awesome, but I’m getting more and more behind with older books. I used to read many more stories published years ago and now… well here’s how my chart looks like for this year:

publication-year

Read more books by the authors I liked. It seems I have a tendency to explore new books and authors instead of reading the series and single novels from the people I liked.

And since I’m talking about series – continue and/or finish some of the series, especially the ones that are already complete and that I own.

book-series

Format – read more paper books, mostly because I own way too many unread books, so I might as well say – read more of owned books :D. Continue reading “Top 5(ish) Wednesday: 2017 Goals”
