BBC Thursday – 6th of April

BBC_Radio_logoHave you missed BBC radio? Have you discovered any good dramas while I was gone?

I haven’t done much listening during that time so I might’ve missed a few things, but there are always new stories waiting :).

1. Journey to the Centre of the Earth Jules Verne’s novel adapted by Moya O’Shea

Renowned professor, Otto Lidenbrock, discovers a mysterious, runic cryptogram in a rare manuscript he has bought. It is his nephew, Axel, who accidentally cracks the message which is by a sixteenth century alchemist who claims to have found a pathway to the centre of the earth! “Descend, bold traveller into the crater of the Jokul of Snæfell, which the shadow of Scartaris touches before the kalends of July and you will attain the centre of the earth.”

BBC Episode 1 | Episode 2 | Goodreads | Day left: 18 | Duration: 2 x 60 min

Let’s start today’s  stories with a classic adventure. One of the fantastic voyages Verne created. You have to admit he had quite an imagination, I might not appreciate his writing style completely, but I do love the stories.

Top 5 Wednesday – Top SFF Books on Your TBR

imgresOh look, another Top 5 Wednesday! It’s been two months since I did one of these and there are plenty books to list on this one, but as usual – five is the limit (more or less). And since I want to actually stay within the limit, I’ll only mention Science Fiction books because my list of these is way shorter than Fantasy :D.

5. Hover by Melissa West

It’s about time I’ve read this one – a sequel to the book I’ve read years ago and really enjoyed. It has aliens, some romance and thrilling adventure (I hope). Continue reading “Top 5 Wednesday – Top SFF Books on Your TBR”

Comic Con and world mapping

Guys! I just found out we’ll FINALLY have Comic Con in Warsaw!!!! It’s so awesome! Well, by “just” I mean like an hour ago which I spent messaging everyone and telling everybody around about this :P. I run around in circles with my hands in the air happily screaming about the upcoming party. Well, I did that in my head at least :P. It would be totally crazy if I did that for real, right?

All those crazy people, all the graphic novels, all the fun geeky stuff, the events… EVERYTHING! Can’t wait!

On the other hand, I’ve been trying to upgrade my fantasy mapping skills by drawing my continent, or at least part of it for now. I’m just trying out some styles and effects, but maybe you can tell me what you think? Here are two parts of my map, and yes, I know water isn’t colored on the west one, it was done earlier and I haven’t thought of it then 😛

Keep it Fresh book Tag

Look at that, I still have some unanswered tags from aaaages ago it seems appropriate to dust them off as a part of some spring cleaning ;). Since It’s finally getting warm outside and I had a nice fruit-filled breakfast today I’m gonna go with the fruitiest tag there is. I’ve been tagged twice for this one by Syc and Mari. Big thanks to both of you for thinking about me!

The Rules

  1. Post the rules before starting and link back to this post as a reference for other bloggers.
  2. Part A: Answer each of the fruit questions (each fruit corresponds to a book!) & add pictures plus why you thought that particular book deserves that particular fruit if possible.
  3. Part B: Choose your favorite fruit (even if it is one of the fruits in part A). Come up with a question that we didn’t ask and answer it.
  4. Part C: Create your own smoothie from the fruits in Part A (imagine a Lemon-Tomato-Apple smoothie ~ yuck), and find a book that would correlate to your smoothie!
  5. Nominate as many and anyone that you think are deserving of this award but it would be nice if you nominated a minimum of 5!
  6. Notify your nominees of the nomination.
  7. The most important rule? Have fun and of course, keep it fresh!

The Fruits

Part A

1. Strawberries: Name the sweetest book you’ve read. (e.g. sweet in terms of the characters or if the story takes place in a sweet world… etc.)

I’ve got to say “Enchanted” because it’s so cute and sweet and adorable and I love it :). Continue reading “Keep it Fresh book Tag”
