Top 5 Wednesday – Books You Wish Had Sequels

imgresIt might be surprising to some of you, but I haven’t found that many books I’d like to have a sequel or continuation. But there’s one explanation for this – I have plenty of series started and not finished, so I already have at least one part waiting tp be read ;). On the other hand – some series or stories ended in a way that leaves no possible continuation to go with, like The Martian – I’d love to read another story about this crazy astronaut, but I feel it wouldn’t make much sense to force one. It’s better to leave a memory of a fantastic book and leave readers wanting more :).

Otto Von TrapezoidOtto Von Trapezoid and the Empress of Thieves by Jesse Baruffi

It’s crazy, it’s funny it has ridiculous villains, mecha dinosaurs, killer robots, teenage hacker, smart thief-villainess and a mad scientist with a wicked spaceship and an army of robots.

It would make a fantastic and crazy movie and I’d really love to read more of their adventures. Continue reading “Top 5 Wednesday – Books You Wish Had Sequels”

October review tour summary

October Tour Banner

Since it’s the last day of my first review tour I’ve decided to create a little summary. I had an occasion to read 3 pretty good books and I’m very satisfied with them all.

Emma and The BanderwighEmma and the Banderwigh by Matthew Cox

A story about a ten year old girl who wants to be very responsible and forget about the fairies, monster and other imaginary things only the kids should believe. She find out that the world of stories might not be just in her Nan’s imagination and that something out there wants to get her.

Demon HeartDemon Heart by Emma L. Adams

A third book in a pretty good young-adult series about demons, sorcerers and a bunch of new college students with special powers. The whole series is worth reading and the last (for now) book is full of surprises and exciting events.

Otto Von TrapezoidOtto Von Trapezoid and the Empress of Thieves by Jesse Baruffi

A twisted and comic tale about two villains who want to take over the world and end up falling in love. This book is AWESOME! Great sense of humor, fantastic battles, interesting plot and great characters.

Review tour – Otto Von Trapezoid and the Empress of Thieves by Jesse Baruffi

October Tour Banner

This story is hilarious! The best non-graphic-novel funny villain story I’ve ever read. You can almost see scenes described there in cartoonish style movie with some cheesy, yet awesome music and the two amazing villains deciding whether to fall in love with each other or kill each other.

Date of Release: October 19, 2015

You can find this book on Goodreads.

I received this copy from the publisher via Curiosity Quills in exchange for an honest review.

This book is perfect! I’m not even going to write you what it’s about, I’ll just use the blurb because I’d rather write you what I felt reading this.

OTTO VON TRAPEZOID AND THE EMPRESS OF THIEVES is the story of two criminal masterminds who can conquer anything except their own feelings. Otto Von Trapezoid is a mad scientist who rules an army of robots from his orbital space station. Angry and grumpy, he sees no value in humanity except becoming their ruler. Esmerelda Santa Monica is the stylish self-proclaimed “Empress of Thieves,” who values her own legend and the thrill of the theft over actual wealth. Both live lonely lives, the desire to become the greatest villains of all time primarily on their minds.

When the two meet in simultaneous attempts to blackmail the UN, their instincts are to attempt to kill one another, but soon they discover a mutual attraction that neither thought possible. Once they begin to pool their resources, the pair seems on track to become the most successful evil-doers of all time and set out to conquer the world itself. But what happens when their villainous natures emerge, and both realize there can only be one absolute ruler of Earth? Can either be satisfied with being second to another?

To make matters worse, they must deal with the protestations of Otto’s sidekick robot SCRAP, the meddling of their fellow villains, their families, and worst of all, heroic superspy Jake Indestructible is determined to bring them both down, once and for all.

Filled with robot dinosaurs, exploding dinner parties, and villainous poker games, OTTO VON TRAPEZOID AND THE EMPRESS OF THIEVES is a hilarious sci-fi comedy that will leave you falling in love with the bad guys!

Yes, you should be in love with this book already. Continue reading “Review tour – Otto Von Trapezoid and the Empress of Thieves by Jesse Baruffi”

Top 5 Wednesday – Authors I’ve Discovered This Year

imgresThere were quite many books I liked this year. Quite many new authors I’ve discovered too. Some of them you already know, some of you probably never heard of.

Since it is a Top 5 list the idea is to place my chosen ones in a certain order, but I have to admit it was very hard to place them. I changed it few times before deciding on this, so be aware that these are all Top 1 discovered authors for me for this year.

Brian K. Vaughan Saga 1 Saga 2

Brian K. Vaughan – I finally got to read Saga! And you know what? I liked it. Yes, I know it was obvious, I was bound to like it. Great story, great characters and great graphic. What’s not to like right? I’ve read the first two parts, soon to be third since I also have that one. Continue reading “Top 5 Wednesday – Authors I’ve Discovered This Year”
