A little bit about me

fQvQy5VZDqeeF5c7XvXrvuOPYPV5Z0i29Wa6UIjumls=w646-h964-noOh look, a visitor! You’re a curious one if you came here. Want to know whose page are you looking at? Smart :).

My name is Magdalena, but I prefer Magda or Meg.

I’ve created this blog to share my honest opinion about the books I read and maybe to sneak in some other bookish info once in a while.

If you’re looking for an honest opinion on a book you want to read or maybe just to check what someone else thought about your last read, check out My Library. If you haven’t found the book you’re looking for, maybe you could suggest me something interesting to read and review?

If you’re and author looking for a reviewer – let me know! I’ve created my Review Policy page just for you.

You probably want to know what kind of books you can find here? I’ve added the “what will andwhat will I not” read sections to my Review policy page.

Why can you trust my opinion to be honest?

Because I care for other readers and I will not recommend a bad book to anyone with a clear conscience. And I also respect all the authors whose books I’m reviewing and I do not intend to lie to them.

I can’t say I’m a writer and that that what I’ll write will change the world, but I will guarantee to do my best to write about what I felt while reading a story. And I’ve got my a precious grammar-nazi proofreader friend who will check all my reviews for stupid mistakes :P. Who knows. maybe one day I will go pro with this blog?

And it’s all because of one author and a certain website

Are you curious who that was? Check it here: Old souls. I intend to write a “How did I came to start this blog” post one day, probably at an anniversary date or something. If I do, I’ll link it here :).

If you want to know a bit more about me you can check my personal posts, like “Being a book nerd” or “Vacations – what will I remember“. Or check out some of my profiles:

Obviously blogging beginnings aren’t easy. You all know it right? Or maybe it’s just me? But every single visit, every awesome follower, every little star I receive from everyone who decides my site is worthy gives me the courage to keep writing! So if you’ll decide to leave me a message – go for it!

  1. Thank you for the likes, Magda. I like your honesty about reviewing books. I have been guilty of being too positive a number of times because I’m still unsure how much negativity people want to read, lol. What an impressive following you have too, well done! 🙂

Thank you , Magda, for the ‘likes’ on my German posts.
[Interesting, there were lots of ‘Magdalenes’ in my family tree, going back about six generations.]

  4. Hi Magdalena,

I noticed on a Google Plus thread you have a book review blog. We have created a free service called Bookvetter which can help you as a reviewer of books. You are the scarce resource as there are far more books than there are reviewers. This makes your time and talent valuable, something to protect.

The first tool we have created with you in mind, is a review request submission form you can use to filter your review requests. The system compares the content of books to your reading interests and takes appropriate action. This includes automated emails and folders where you can keep your review requests organized. When you have a moment checkout the review request form and how the system works.

We also have Vetted books you can checkout and review. These are books which have survived peer review and are considered worth the time of a larger audience. The final feature we have to offer is currently under construction and will enable readers to find your review blog, based on the types of books you like to read and review. One of our goals is to bring readers to your site where they can interact with you, versus just reading your work on Amazon.

We are still a small community and building all the needed features, so feedback is always appreciated! If you have any additional questions please contact me. Best of luck with your reviews and building your audience.

    Kind Regards,

    Marc

    1. Hi Marc

I love the idea of bookvetter it sounds great. Plus the videos are well made 😀
I’ve registered already. I’ll be happy to be a part of all this and I hope it will grow. Good authors need to be recognized, I hope I’ll be able to help at least few of them 🙂

      Best regards,
      Magda
