BBC Sunday special – 8th of May

Since a certain follower (Thanks Andrew!) let me know there’s Julius Caesar on BBC now I’ve decided to add an extra post this week.

So there’s that one and one more I’ve listened to a while ago. And don’t worry, there will be new dramas on Thursday :).

1. Doctor Syn – Russell Thorndike

18th Century swashbuckling scholar, Doctor Syn finds love – and encounters a dastardly squire.

Christopher Syn, a brilliant young scholar, is a Doctor of Divinity at Oxford, but his eventual decision to throw away the Bible for the sword in a mad quest for vengeance will influence the rest of his life.

Undercover Robin-Hood-like hero, exciting adventures and a bit of thrill – this is what the story will offer you. It’s an exciting tale

2. Julius Caesar – William Shakespeare

A new production in three parts of Shakespeare’s great political drama. Cassius persuades Brutus that Caesar’s ambition is a threat to the republic and a conspiracy is formed.

Yet another Shakespeare this week, but it is to be expected since BBC has a Shakespeare festival going on :). This time, it’s one of the shorter stories and also something I haven’t read… Well, I wasn’t born in the UK, I bet if I were I had more of Shakespeare’s plays as school reads :P. Instead, I’ve read plenty of Polish classics that I bet you don’t even know exist.

Happy listening!
