I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Oh yes, here’s the second part of the Kaminishi stories. And yet again the Goodreads description pretty much says it all, so I’m not going to quote it here.

You might’ve wondered what happened with the couple that went through time and space to find each other. Here they are, living in Tokyo together. It all seems to be working out between them at first, but Michael keeps getting back to the past with his thoughts. Shintaro is busy at work and his family wants him back in Yakuza.

This story might’ve been a little better than the first one as this time there was actually some plot that you could follow. Yes, the romance still comes first, but at least, it is about a romance and not just sex. The couple seemed to drift apart lately and Michael wants to fix this. Sometimes you just have to give your partner some space, think about what’s happening, what each of you can do to improve your relationship. Or maybe it’s time to end it?

There was one scene that bothered me most in this story – the rather violent sex scene in the city. But not the scene itself, rather that Michael actually enjoyed it. I’m not going to open a discussion here about this kind of scenes πŸ™‚ although it might’ve been fun, but I just wanted to tell you it seemed rather needless here.

On the other hand, I did like the romantic scenes between Michael and his past and future lover. The setting was lovely and nicely described. This story should have more of these.

I did like the ending too. It was rather heart-warming.
